Manging Partner
Ed Pacer is the Managing Partner in the newly formed Pacer Law Group. He previously worked at a prominent national firm, where he served as the Managing Partner of the Chicago office and Co-Chair of the White-Collar Litigation and Regulatory Enforcement Practice. He is a highly regarded litigation attorney with a broad base of experience. He has tried 34 civil and criminal cases to jury verdict and has tried dozens of cases before the bench. Ed has represented clients in complex commercial litigation and business disputes, cases involving fraud and civil RICO claims, and a variety of employment contract, discrimination, and construction cases. Ed also has extensive experience in effectively representing clients in mediation and arbitration and litigation. His experience has allowed him to serve as a valuable asset to his clients by providing internal policy and practice advice and by aiding clients in assessing and avoiding risk. Ed is also Of-Counsel to the Colorado Fischer Law Group.

In addition to litigated matters, during the past 15 years a significant portion of Ed’s practice has focused on investigating and responding when clients face internal problems. Ed has conducted investigations for clients related to a wide-variety of allegations including, improper employment practices, internal theft, DBE/MBE/WBE pass-throughs, false claims act violations, bid-rigging, bias motivated events, whistle-blower claims and violations of gratuity prohibitions. When necessary, Ed has represented clients in claims brought by federal and state prosecutors, federal and state regulatory agencies, state and federal employment regulatory agencies, and a variety of inspector generals’ offices throughout the country and in the defense of criminal prosecutions.
Ed is a former Assistant State’s Attorney in Cook County, Illinois, where he spent a significant amount of time assigned to the special prosecution bureau and was assigned to a multi-jurisdictional task force units that investigated and prosecuted organized criminal enterprises. Ed is a former partner at the firm of Williams Montgomery & John and a former partner at the Harrison & Held law firm. GREGORY A. EICHORN

Partner
Gregory A. Eichorn serves as a partner at the firm. His primary area of practice is construction law. This includes representing general contractors, construction managers, owners/developers, subcontractors, other construction professionals and their sureties. Mr. Eichorn has extensive experience in negotiating complex construction contracts for sports stadia, office buildings, hospitals, residential high-rises, specialty construction, renovations, and all levels of public and private schools and universities. Mr. Eichorn currently represents some of the nation’s largest contractors, and his practice involves the resolution of complex construction disputes through negotiations, mediation, and, when necessary, arbitration and litigation for issues including breach of contract, liens, delays, wrongful termination, impacts, defective work and design, governmental audits, inefficiencies, bonds and insurance claims.

Mr. Eichorn’s background in engineering, construction and the law has afforded him with a unique ability to troubleshoot difficult issues before they become formal disputes through counseling, best practices, innovation, strategic solutions, and risk assessment and management.
Mr. Eichorn has a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois. His law degree at John Marshall Law School was earned while he worked full time for the nation’s largest general building contractor and construction manager in a variety of roles, ranging from cost and scheduling engineer, project accountant, senior engineer, project superintendent, and then serving as Corporate Counsel. Mr. Eichorn is admitted to practice in the State of Illinois and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Illinois. He serves as an adjunct professor of construction contracts and disputes at
Northwestern University. He serves as an adjunct professor of construction contracts and risk management at
Purdue University He also serves as an American Society of Civil Engineer’s delegate, a drafting committee member, and past chairman for the Engineering Joint Contract Documents Committee (EJCDC).
